About Rach Makes And Creates - Discover the Artist

Meet Rach,
Fused Glass Artist

About Rach

My journey into glass fusing started by happy accident. I'd tried other forms of glass art — stained glass leading, copper foiling — but it's fused glass I keep coming back to, for the freedom it gives me.

There's something wonderfully tactile about working with glass, and that moment of opening the kiln to see how a piece has turned out never gets old.

Every piece I make carries a little of my own personality, and my love of colour and creativity.

By day, I work as a psychotherapist — so glass fusing has become its own kind of therapy for me, a chance to switch off the analytical side of my brain and lose myself in something purely creative.

Working in private practice from home can be a fairly solitary way to spend your days, so for a sense of community, you'll often find me at Vitreus Art (more on that below) — the place where I first fell in love with glass.

Vitreus Art
Be Part of a Creative Glass Community

Want to give glass art a try for yourself? You're in the right place. Let me introduce you to Jenny & Mike at Vitreus Art. They introduced me to my love of glass when I attended my first (of many) workshops several years ago.

They offer a range of workshops where you can try glass fusing, staining, leading and copper foiling, along with other creative offerings by guest tutors.

You can often find me in the Vitreus Art studio where I go to feel part of a community and create my larger pieces.

You can find out more by visiting their website.
